Help fight Heart Disease with Surrey Quays BIG Donation!
Surrey Quays Shopping Centre is calling everyone from in and around London to donate BIG for the British Heart Foundation – and there’s no need to open your wallet
Everyone likes to help a worthy charity but when money is tight, it isn’t always possible. The British Heart Foundation (BHF) recognises that people would like to help the charity in other ways so are holding a nationwide donate event in preparation for their biggest ever stock appeal in September – The BIG Donation.
The BIG Donation enables everyone to help fight heart disease by donating their good quality unwanted goods which will be sold on in BHF Shops to raise money to help fight the UK’s biggest killer.
From Monday 6th to Monday 20th September, Surrey Quays Shopping Centre will be holding their own BIG Donation event where visitors can bring in previously loved, good quality clothing, shoes, accessories, books, toys and bric-a-brac, You can even donate your unwanted furniture and electrical items and arrange for it to be collected for free by calling 0844 412 5000.
“This is a great opportunity to have a good sort out at home in the knowledge that all your donated items will go to an excellent cause” says Ian Moore, Centre Manager of Surrey Quays. ”200,000 people in the UK die every year from heart disease which is why it is so important to us to host this event and give everyone in the community a chance to get involved.”
To help make a difference simply take your bag of donations to the drop off point situated outside TESCO’s. Every bag of good quality items donated could raise as much as £20 or more for the charity. Additional collection points will be situated within the following stores; B.H.S, Body Shop, Burtons, Card Factory, Clinton Cards, Curry's Digital, Game, Mothercare, River Island, Specsavers and Superdrug.
BHF Area Manager, June Tumilty said, “Everyone at the British Heart Foundation, from our volunteers to our cardiac nurses, work tirelessly in the fight against heart disease. We rely on the support of local people to continue helping heart patients across the region. If everyone in London fills up a bag they will be helping to save lives in their community. It really is as simple as that.”
