Surrey Quays sponsor Docklands JFC
Docklands JFC is a new under 11 football team in the local area of Bermondsey and will be made up of young people in and around the Southwark borough. Surrey Quays have been announced as their sponsors for the next two years.
Most of the young people come from deprived areas where there are drugs, guns and knife crime. It is at this age when young people may be easily influenced to do out of character tasks, which they may never have intended to do if pointed in the right direction. These young people may come from poverty stricken families where finding money for their children to participate in organized activities is very difficult.
This is where Docklands JFC comes in.
The team have been entered into the Bexley and District Junior Football League, where they will play every Sunday against other teams in and around South East London and Kent areas. The team will also train once a week at Bacon’s College by myself and other qualified football coaches, helping them not only with their football skills but with ways of conducting themselves in public and setting them up for a successful future.
